I need a cheap-easy-fast Divorce!?
My ex and I have lived apart for years, but are on friendly terms. My son is over 21. At this time I just want to finally make our seperation legal and get a divorce in order to seperate my credit record from his. I want to do it as cheap as possible. After looking online it seems my options are to download forms for about $60 to fill out and file myself or get a lawyers help for starting at about $250. Has anyone downloaded the the forms and filed by yourself successfully? Did you have any problems? And if you went thru a lawyer for one of those advertised "cheap" divorces, did it work OK or were there problems? Was the total what they said it would be or were there hidden costs? (I live in Florida)
don't download forms and pay for them...
go to the library in your town and tell them that you need "the book that shows you how to file a divorce"
these books contain sample forms and you can recreate them on your own computer at home.
I did my divorce this way many years ago before I got my law degree...and it is perfectly legal and correct.
You will have to pay court costs and filing fees, and they vary by state, and you will have to have your husband sign the papers. It's alot easier since the two of you agree.
