Divorce Vs Staying Married

divorce vs staying married
Im torn between moving in with my future husband vs child stating "i hate you mommy if we move". What do i do?

My son is 7 with ADHD/ODD and is very challenging! Im Divorced 6 years. My bf is wonderful with us and we get along well.Im having his baby this July.We plan on marrying next summer (2009). I live in Can and he in Michigan (40 mins). I want to move to USA [lower taxes, i work in detroit (toll is expensive), my bfs home is paid off and in good area, i have small apt]. My son hates idea of moving to the states b/c he loves his school and friends (gr. 2). He's doing well academically. States he will hate me forever!Tears rolling! Also, when we move, my son wouldnt be able to stay at my ex's for about 3-4 months due to residency status. My ex would have to come to the USA during this period (40 min drive). My ex and I differ greatly with parenting and has always given me a hard time with regards to my sons meds. He has no rules at his home and my son loves going there. Im strict and have boundaries due to his ADHD/ODD. I want to move but im scared i will lose my sons love. What do i do?

Your the adult. He will not hate you. You can't let him control you, or it will never end. But, he would benefit from seeing a child psychologist. Be sure your bf understands the difficulty he is about to embark on with a resentful ADHD child living with him. I doubt he can truly imagine the amount of destruction and drama this child is capable of. This is likely to be your biggest problem.
