Divorce Rights Cyprus

Is it true eastern europe people wear their wedding rings on thier right hand?
I'm doing some research and I've come across something that says Eastern Europeans (Russia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania) wear their wedding ring on their right hand and if they're Divorced or widowed they wear it on thier left. I'd also like to know what the ring custom in Cyprus is as well if anyone can tell me I'd be grateful.
My husband is from the former Yugoslavia. Before we got married, he had one request of me that he said would mean a lot to him - to wear the ring on my right hand, which is their tradition. He is Rusyn (Ruthenian). Well, the man never asked much of me, so I did, and for 17 years I have enjoyed doing so. We got married in a Ukrainian Catholic ceremony. Since we've been married, we have more of his family and other people from Yugoslavia come to Canada, and they all wear their rings on the right hand. Interestingly, my mom (we are Ukrainian) told me that when she got married, the ring was put on her right hand - but that she later switched it to the left, and always wore it there. So, it's been interesting doing this, since I wear my wedding band, my engagement ring and 10 year anniversary ring together on my right hand, and sometimes a dress ring on my left. So sometimes people think I'm married, others think I'm divorced, etc.. I answer politely if they ask.
