who do wedding gifts belong to After Divorce?
My husband and I are divorcing and he says that all the wedding gifts from his family belong to him and vice versa. Is that true? Most of my relatives gave us cash, which we no longer have. We live in NC, which is an Equitable Distribution (50/50) state, and have been married for 13 yrs.
..the wedding gifts are all of our dining room furniture, cabinets, dishes, glasses, & silverware. Because he always wanted the best of everything, these are still around, though only used a few times. Very expenseive items.
wedding gifts belong to both of you. he sounds like an idiot.
if hes anything like some of the guys i know, ask him if he can tell you who gave what and if he wrote out the thank you card. if he can its his if not, score for you.
