Divorce Rings?
Hello all,
I came across this letter that was written to a column, and she was asking if it was "ok" for her to purchase and wear a "divorce ring."
I have never heard of such a thing, and it got me thinking. You are supposed to wear this ring on your ring finger on your left hand (just like you would an engagement ring)
How would anyone know that its a "divorce ring" and not an engagement ring? Has anyone else ever heard of this type of ring? What do they look like?

I read that in Dear Abby, and I agree with Abby's advice. If you want to buy yourself something special to mark the occasion, fine, but if you wear it on your left ring finger, don't be surprised if no one realizes it's a divorce ring and thinks you are still married.
I had never heard of it either before that column. I also agree with another answerer. It's just a marketing ploy to sell jewelry.
