Divorce Counseling
What do you do when divorce isn't an option and your spouse will not commit to counseling?
My husband and I are constantly at eachothers throats, but don't feel that divorce is an option and he won't go to counsling. He is in the Navy and I stay @ home ( no work exper.) so even if we were to split up, I don't know what I would do...A split would be a financial nightmare for me, he can just go live on the ship, whereas I would have to find a home for me and my 4 children...and no, he won't help! He used to make me feel like a princess, now I just feel like the monster in the closet he hides from everyone. He makes me feel like dying inside now. He does not care about that either. I just don't know what to do or where do I start. Or what are some options for me. Thanks for whoever reads this.
I suggest finding somoeone with whom you both can talk to. Make sure that its someone that possibly knows both sides already or who is familiar with your relationship. Sit at the dinner table and get the outsider to ask questions with this you can both respond or one or the other and they should be able to respond and give there opinion on what they have heard. This opens the door for communication, and just because you talked about it then your talks with him should continue with him afterwords. I have been to counseling and this is my oppinion. Counseling is basically just having a moderater so everyone stays calm and talks things out they dont give advice, they ask questions. And they give their response to what they hear. I feel that anyone can do this it dont take a professional. It just takes a moderator that knows questions to ask to get the ball rolling again and get the open line of communication back. But you must also make sure to express how you are feeling, and discuss what it will take to get the relationship back on track.
